Bank of America Museums on Us in Sacramento: Free Admission at Three Museums This Weekend

Crocker Museum sacramento

Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders can walk into three Sacramento museums for free this Saturday and Sunday, November 7–8, 2026, as part of the bank’s ongoing Museums on Us program. The benefit covers one free general admission per eligible cardholder on the first full weekend of each month.

Three Sacramento-area institutions are on the 2026 roster: the Crocker Art Museum, The California Museum, and the California Automobile Museum. Here’s what each one has going on right now, and what you need to bring.

Crocker Art Museum

The Crocker, at 216 O Street in Midtown Sacramento, is in the middle of a strong fall stretch. November brought two new exhibitions opening simultaneously — including work spanning the museum’s permanent collection and a focused contemporary show. Normal admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and college students with ID, and $8 for youth ages 6–17; children five and under are always free.

Hours this weekend: Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday is the late night, with the building open until 9 p.m., but that’s outside the Museums on Us window. Plan for Saturday or Sunday if you’re using the BofA benefit.

The Crocker sits at the corner of O and Third streets, with street parking on O Street and a surface lot nearby on Third. More on what’s currently showing at the Crocker this November.

The California Museum

One block away at 1020 O Street, The California Museum focuses on California history, culture, and people. The Día de los Muertos exhibition — Sendero de las Almas Luminosas — has been drawing crowds since it opened in October. Normal admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students, military, and youth ages 6–17; children five and under are free with a paid adult.

Hours Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours Sunday: noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays.

Because the Crocker and The California Museum are both on O Street within a five-minute walk of each other, it’s straightforward to visit both on the same afternoon. Read more about the Día de los Muertos exhibition at The California Museum.

California Automobile Museum

The California Automobile Museum is farther south at 2200 Front Street in the Land Park area, about two miles from the O Street cluster. The collection covers American automotive history from early 20th-century cars through mid-century classics and later production models. Normal admission is approximately $12 for adults, $10 for military, and $6 for youth ages 5–17; call ahead to confirm current pricing at (916) 442-6802.

Hours this weekend: Wednesday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Tuesdays). Note the earlier 4 p.m. closing compared to the O Street museums — plan to arrive by 3 p.m. if you want time to walk the full collection. The California Automobile Museum also hosts Cars and Cocoa With Santa in December.

How the Museums on Us Benefit Works

Bring an active Bank of America, Merrill, or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit card — the card must have your name on it. You’ll also need a valid government-issued photo ID. At the admissions desk, show both and ask for the Museums on Us free admission.

A few things worth knowing before you go:

  • The benefit covers one free general admission per cardholder. It applies to the named cardholder only — a spouse, partner, or child needs their own qualifying card to receive the same benefit.
  • Special exhibitions with separate ticketing, ticketed events, and additional experiences are not included. Standard general admission is covered.
  • The benefit is not transferable and cannot be combined with other offers.
  • Some museums may require an advance reservation even for free admissions. Check the museum’s website or call before you go.
  • The benefit runs only on the first full weekend of each month — so Saturday November 7 and Sunday November 8 are the November 2026 dates. It does not apply on other weekends.

Planning Your Visit

If you’re combining the Crocker and The California Museum in one trip, the O Street corridor is walkable. Metered street parking on O Street and in the surrounding grid is available on weekends. The Sacramento RT light rail’s St. Rose of Lima Park station (on the Gold Line) drops you a block from both museums.

The California Automobile Museum requires a separate trip south toward Land Park. Front Street has surface parking adjacent to the building. Budget about 90 minutes to two hours for the collection.

All three museums are open both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The California Museum opens an hour later on Sundays (noon vs. 10 a.m.), and the Automobile Museum closes an hour earlier than the others (4 p.m. vs. 5 p.m.) — worth noting if you’re planning a multi-museum day.
